In recent decades, and at one time to the emergence of new technologies that have ended up scanning most of the processes of the film, the documentary has known a notorious and systematic growth around the world. In our country, and for more than one decade, a production before linked almost exclusively to fiction has been swelling their ranks with new topics, new approaches, new geographies, new dilemmas.
It is in this context that FIDBA is proposed as the 1st. International Film Festival dedicated to this genre which films with the same fans - as long as we believe that the forms and the doings of the documentary film are different from those of the fiction - may meet and dialogue among them and with the public. If the documentary is a meeting point for the FIDBA, it is insofar as it proposes an interpellation to the little-known memoirs, disturbing present and (our) future in suspension. FIDBA will then be an approach not only among audiences, filmmakers and thinkers linked documentary but also in relation to the always stimulating possibilities that allow you to open this space to other border and heterodox expressions framed inside of what we would call "non-fiction" and that encourage us to dialogue with contemporary expressions that go beyond even the scope of the film.
FIDBA will pay special attention to those filmmakers for whom cinema is linked to a form of research and knowledge of the world that surrounds us as to the portrait of human beings whose conditions of life, in certain historical and social contexts, allow you to ask us about our. It is, therefore, authors who not only reflect reality but also ethical and moral relationship which involves filming the other.
FIDBA aims to become a point of support for filmmakers seeking to widen the perception of reality and to films which represent a step forward in the effort to understand it and anticipate it. So, it will make focus on films whose aesthetic originality put at risk not only an idea of the documentary but also a thought about the same film and its possibilities. Since this focus implies questioning the status of the real front of the camera or of the film in relation to reality, this is as inseparable from the mediations that arises.

The festival explores new cinematographic languages and defends courage, diversity and curiosity in creation.
The IV International Devotional Film Festival will take place between August 8 and 11, 2025 and the call for entries will be open until July 5.
The Festival aims to carry out a ritual, a bridge, between the spectators and the audiovisual works that seek, through the expressive possibilities of cinema, to understand reverence and fervor, questioning devotion as a way of being in the world. We understand devotion as a surrender, mystical or not, to an experience, an idea, a thing, a thought, a person, an object, everything is susceptible to devotion.
We clarify, as fundamental, that this festival, under no point of view, will be a participant in any propaganda and that it does not subscribe with any religious or other group.
Dear filmmakers,
Welcome to our page! We know how many festivals there are and how difficult it is to choose which ones to submit to. The following will hopefully help you learn more about our festival and decide if our festival is right for you.
As filmmakers, we organize a film festival that we would like to attend: simple and professional, humble with a zest of sparkle, in short a glamourous festival set in the country-side.
We are proud to say that EACH film is seen by three different people on our selection committee.
ALL films are treated the same. One quote is for ALL prices. You don't pay extra for extra attention.
Our editorial line has evolved: we no longer have a particular theme because this has caused us to miss some very good films. Some remaining eliminatory criteria rest: inaudible or bad sound, gratuitous violence or pornographic scenes...
We love ALL GENRES of storytelling: science fiction, fantasy films, romantic comedies, thrillers, horror, dramas, dark short films, crazy short films... Our Friday evening AFTER DARK block (films for ages 15+ ) is one of the public's favourites!
For the filmmakers present (2 per film), we offer a festival pass, breakfast + meal tickets, a 5-taster pass for the Saturday wine tasting, the famous Sunday brunch and a closing dinner with our volunteers after the festival.
We cannot cover accommodation costs (our site gives you addresses to help) or travel costs.
We are setting up one shuttle per day to and from Narbonne or Carcassonne stations. From Carcassonne, you can take a bus there are many going direct to Rieux Minervois.
For filmmakers coming from abroad, we have other arrangements (contact us at lechouettefestival@gmail.com)
Le chouette festival is located in Rieux Minervois, a small village in Aude, situated between Carcassonne and Narbonne, the festival takes place every year on the first weekend of October.
This year it runs from the 29th of September to the 5th of October 2025.
Filmin presents Revoluções Curtas, an online festival that aims to give visibility to new voices in Portuguese cinema. At Filmin we believe in a free cinema, away from the noise in which we live. Everything more, everything plus, everything a lot. And it is from this feeling that this festival is born, with which we want to give a voice to young people who can't find their place. We think of cinema as a tool for social change, which is why we encourage young Portuguese talents to express themselves through their films. Because cinema is a form of revolution.

FILUMS - International Film Festival, hosted annually by the LUMS Media Arts Society (LMA), is one of the largest film festivals in Pakistan. FILUMS has evolved to become a benchmark in the filmmaking industry, also crediting itself to be the largest film festival in South Asia and is on its way to becoming an independent nation-wide event. This mega event provides a platform for independent filmmakers from around the globe to come and showcase their film expertise. At FILUMS, the passion of films and the art of making them is celebrated, attended by people whose proficiency in this area is vast – including, but not limited to, renowned and capable producers, directors, actors, and camera operators. The media coverage, celebrity attention and foreign participation FILUMS receives is testament to the festival’s success and current standing. Despite its accomplishments, with every passing year, FILUMS aims to grow more, and surpass the success of the previous years in all aspects – media coverage, workshops, and audiences.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Submissions at FILUMS are open in 7 categories this year, namely Shorts, Feature Films, Documentary - Short, Documentary - Long, Music Video, and Animation. A new addition to our traditional categories is the introduction of Student entries in the category: Rising Youth Films.
There are two stages of scrutiny before the films received at the festival can claim awards. Each entry is initially examined to be shortlisted among the best entries which are screened at the festival. These selected films are then forwarded to an external jury specially formulated for each category, and the final awards are given on the basis of the judgment given by the judges who are experienced, well-acclaimed, and considered to be the best authority in their respective fields.
One of the most important components of FILUMS is the workshops that are conducted by qualified professionals, many of whom have achieved a celebrity status. Such celebrities not only recount their learning experiences but also offer invaluable assistance in the form of well-seasoned advice. Workshops previously held at FILUMS have included a wide variety of topics, ranging from pre-production, post-production, film marketing to biographical accounts of members of the Pakistani Film Industry. We hope that such interactions will help several budding filmmakers and artists get access to bright opportunities in media and entertainment, while enabling others to find a direction to hone their creativity and skills.
Works premiered at FILUMS have gone on to earn special recognition such as ‘Seedlings’, which won the best film award at the NYC Film Festival, ‘Sapola’, a film made by Aleem Bukhari which has won the best foreign film award at the Lisbon International Film Festival, ‘Children of the Taliban’, ‘Like A Good Kid’, ‘Made in Pakistan’, ‘Kashf’, ‘Zibahkhana’, ‘Shanu’, ‘Taxi’, ‘Zindah Lash’, and many others.
Imagine a film you created being played in the esteemed halls of Lahore’s cultural district in an event that collaborates with Lahore’s own Art council and is attended by the very best in the field.
FILUMS continues to expand its horizons with each passing year. Its journey spans from a small initiative 12 years ago, with around 50 regional participants, to an international platform of its current standing, with a record number of entries (more than 250 international and 500 national) in initial years and a total of over 300 entries in last year alone. Each year, the talent and creativity presented at FILUMS far exceeds that of previous years, and it is with such a pace that this nascent film festival is progressing towards its aim of becoming the central hub of a cinematic revival in Pakistan and abroad.
This year FILUMS will be hosting 3 categories on the LUMS Campus to promote local filmmakers, and the nature of the event being held locally will induce nationwide participation, bringing diversity and a cultural kaleidoscope of genres and films.
