Cinema as a social phenomenon has become one of the most innovative and enriching cultural consumptions and practices of the XX century. Clearly, cinema changes us but this transformation that film provokes is not just individual. We’re also asking for as a community. Therefore, cinema must be understood as a social phenomenon, as a cultural vehicle, as a complex device which catalyze the yearnings and portraits of a society, as a producer of subjectivities.
For the city of Chivilcoy the launching of an international film festival represents a chimerical cultural proposal. Its background is based on previous experiences that bond these individual and collective practices: shootings, film’s retrospectives, workshops, festivals and other events that take place in our community. This whole set of inputs is a key component, coupled with the suitable reaction of the local public who are eager to rejoice at the "seventh art" and to enjoy a festival as a space for exchange, dialogue and circulation of cultural goods.

In the monthly film festival landscape, many events are unethical and non-transparent, charging filmmakers embarrassing entry fees without then committing to showing and promoting their work in the best way possible. We at the Prisma Awards work to reshape this system for the better.
We created an always improving stage-by-stage monthly festival that revolves around live screenings in Rome and with submission costs within reach of everyone (???????? ????????????'???? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????? ???????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????: ???????????????? ???? ???????????????????????? ????????????????????, ???????????????? ???????????????? ???????? ???????????????????????????????????????? ???????????? ???????????? 24 ???????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????????). Film Maudit 2.0 (www.filmmaudit.org) is a showcase and celebration of new outré, unusual and startling films. Now approaching its 5th edition, the fest is inspired by legendary artist Jean Cocteau’s festival, Le Film Maudit, which celebrated a group of films that were criminally overlooked and neglected at the time.
-
The term film maudit literally means “cursed films,” and this showcase of counter-cinema blends together narrative, documentary and experimental films that in their style and/or subject matter, are deliberately bold, extreme, confrontational, troubling, shocking and/or unusual.
-
We are looking for adventuresome works that eschew conventional genre & format expectations and deal with socio-political issues, taboo subjects, and challenge artistic assumptions and sexual mores. These works can be in the form of feature films, short films, pilots, VR, and works that cross disciplines.
-
The festival is co-presented by and takes place in part at Southern California's boldest center for new performance and media arts, Highways Performance Space & Gallery in Santa Monica, CA. In its 34th year, Highways continues to be an important alternative cultural center in Los Angeles that encourages radical artists from diverse communities to develop and present innovative new works. Described by the Los Angeles Times as “a hub of experimental theater, dance, solo drama and other multimedia performance,” Highways promotes the development of contemporary socially involved artists and art forms.
FesticineKids 27 is an international children's and youth film festival in Cartagena de Indias, it is a film competition that orients its efforts towards strengthening the production and distribution of Colombian, Latin American and world cinema for children and young people.
In 2025, FesticineKids reaches its 27th, edition with the same spirit of highlighting and celebrating cinema for girls, boys and young people. The phrase has been chosen as the slogan: OUR KIDS VALUES. From this concept it is intended to invite children and young people to be aware of the responsibility they have to be agents of change in their environments. Children and young people are the future that should encourage the care of our planet earth, the human beings that surround them, animals and plants, as well as the places they visit. The tendency to Afro movies and ones oriented to indigenous people.
In the construction of the profile of the FesticineKids 27, the screen is problematized as a point of confluence of girls, boys and adolescents. By postulating cinema as that scenario in which feelings, emotions and beliefs are expressed, it is intended that girls, boys and adolescents, understanding what the cinema evokes them, what they extract from it and its meanings, wonder about the place that cinema has in their lives, in their environment, in parallel to the place they want and dream of.
It is also an opportunity for adults, parents, teachers, cultural and cinematographic authorities, to think about the need to strengthen their capacities to be trainers in tension and interaction with the audiovisual media, especially the cinema.
Dear friends and friends:
Once again we have the honor of inviting you to be part of our festival for which we look for films of any duration, theme or origin that, embracing the tools of real cinema, represent diverse points of view on the contemporary human experience.
In this version we are once again a face-to-face space, returning our hearts to the collective bodies of the desert. AricaDoc was born as a path to explore alternatives to the competition and commodification that industrial logics impose on the cinematographic arts.
Promoting a sensitive and political meeting based on the active search for new ways to feel our relationship with the world around us.
We are deeply grateful to each and everyone who has joined the communities of audiences of the festival from distant territories, thinking of them and them is that at least part of the program will be available on an online viewing platform, for access from Peru, Bolivia and Chile.
For this year the activities will be concentrated between October 3rd to 12th. Being this call open between June 26th and July 27th, through FESTHOME.
