MISSION & OBJECTIVE
F3: Frankly Film Fest is a festival that embraces diversity in film, giving a showcase to films that may not fit into the typical film festival mold. We seek to give an outlet to the experimental, the fan films, the 48 hour film projects, the student films, the films that may not have such a happy ending, the films that challenge the audience to think and feel.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Founded in 2004 by Frankly Zoe Productions as a one off festival meant to promote their Youth Summer Movie Program, F3: Frankly Film Fest screened 27 films during the 2005 festival. In 2016 Frankly Zoe Productions decided to resurrect F3 in conjunction with the Tenth Anniversary of Un-Con, an unconventional convention where all genres of fandom are welcome and accepted. In keeping with the "all genres are welcome" theme of the Un-Con, F3 is an all genre festival.
The 2016 F3: Frankly Film Fest received 685 submissions from 39 different countries. Of those 685 films, 50 were chosen to screen during the weekend festival. There were awards given for "Best Short", "Best Feature", "Best Student Film", and "Best of Fest".
For the 2017 festival F3 became a shorts only festival. The festival received 499 submissions from 41 different countries. Awards were given for "Best Student Short", "Best Non-Student Short", "Best of Fest", "Judges Choice", and "The Steve Turner Award."
For the 2018 festival, 401 entries were received from 40 countries. Forty films were screened at our festival.
In order to be fair to all filmmakers, no fee waivers will be granted.
Kinorum is a student film festival located in Monterrey Mexico. It includes master classes and workshops taught by specialists and there is also the screening of the short films in competition.
TRIBE Project brings you Through My Eyes Film Festival.
Through My Eyes is an international and Indigenous short film festival that seeks to showcase the stories of Indigenous peoples from all over the world. The festival aims to redefine the word Indigenous, originally meaning "of the land", and in doing so, create community through the understanding that we are all indigenous to somewhere. It doesn't matter if you're native to the United States, the aboriginal lands of Australia, Europe, Asia, or Africa.
Submissions need not be limited to content that explores Indigenous or Native Identity (though that is welcome). We seek radical inclusivity that embraces stories from the land you come from and the places that your ancestors once called home. From the heart of Native American actress and filmmaker, Tiger Moon, Through My Eyes is seeking submissions for LA's 4th annual Indigenous short film festival.
Seeking to give greater visibility to the Amazon and nearby states productions, the Olhar do Norte festival has the interest of creating a network of relations between filmmakers from the North Region, divulging the production of these states.

Since our inception in 2017, many films have found distribution through our sponsors, with many more being offered distribution deals by visiting distributors. Our festival’s growing reputation of top-notch independent films has consistently attracted more distributors every year, making it a possibility to interact with distributors directly! One of the key components to Festival of Cinema NYC's success, is making sure each filmmaker and their film get the proper attention and publicity that they deserve. Filmmakers at the festival have had their films covered in various news publications around Queens and New York City, including the N.Y. Times, the NY Daily News, The NY Post, The Queens Chronicle, CBSN and NY1 News on Spectrum cable. Attending filmmakers each get a Q&A following their screening, giving them the chance to engage our audience.
Additionally, Festival of Cinema NYC hosts panels and workshops that strongly appeal to filmmakers. Subjects including distribution and production resources, as well as workshops by industry leaders such as Sag-Aftra and Seed & Spark.

2020 has sure been an unprecedented year unlike any before. Many Arts & Cultural institutions Including movie theaters were impacted by the pandemic caused by Covid-19. As a result, many festivals in 2020 were forced to re-imagine, and restructure their format. Facing new regulations and guidelines set by New York City and the State, Festival of Cinema managed to convert the 2020 festival into a Drive-In Theater, becoming one of only a handful of film festivals around the country to hold a live event. As a film festival created by filmmakers for filmmakers, our goal is to bring your film to the big screen. While 2021 hasn’t guaranteed the opening of theater venues at full capacity, the team at Festival of Cinema NYC promises to continue to work hard in creating an event that filmmakers and the public can attend in person.
