Globale—Critical and Emancipatory Perspectives is a non-profit and non-competitive festival that exhibits documentaries with political and social themes. It was founded in Berlin in 2003 and later replicated in Warsaw, Montevideo, Rio de Janeiro, and Bogota, where it has been held since 2011.
Its objective is to generate scenarios of denunciation, dialogue, awareness, and analysis of reality based on the themes established for each version. ++ Amazing Stoner Movie Manifesto - How to win $1,000 USD Best Stoner Movie!++
What is a stoner movie?
This was the Golden Ganja question as we watched the exotic entries one after another. It’s not just the dude stuff or the trippy images with disassociated dialogue. It dawned on us that what makes a film a stoner movie is its sense of reality, a certain observational distance—Zen detachment. They don’t all show ganja on screen or even touch on weed culture, but they all have in common the state of being stoned.
The point being: If contemporary consensus reality with its abusive half-truths is clearly losing its mind, artists, filmmakers and cinephiles have the right—even the dharma—to subvert and shatter that cherished idol.
All we weed is love.

The Golden Ganja Awards
Perhaps you must be stoned to understand why a documentary on the battle between good and evil monks for the soul of Burma has won the same Most Shocking Stoner Movie prize invented to honour ‘Space Birth 2’ in 2022. Burmese monks inciting and absolving bloodlust vs German space castration, which is more shocking?
After the Golden Ganja awards ceremony, sunk in a beanbag sipping a joint watching stoner movies in the ever-changing glow from the screen at the final open air screening (the sombre note of Shorts 4: Holy War Zone), I was filled with this overwhelming realisation: how vital it is to be happy, to do happy things with happy people of good will. To be present here and now, watching the same film together, dreaming the same dream. A film festival like a sweet bloom abuzz with new friends and old coming together to inspire and be inspired.
The emotional highlight was the zoom session with director Christian Linaban, now seeking asylum abroad after sinister police harassment of his family as a consequence of making and, worse, screening ‘SuperPsychoCebu’, a ‘druggy film’ in a country in the grip of Duterte’s War on Drugs. The film won the very first Golden Ganja in 2019 and has gone on to become a cult stoner movie worldwide. Big hugs and good luck to him.
Thank you everyone for coming together so joyously to make this happen, including our first ever corporate sponsor Thai Stick for the premium free sample given out to filmmakers as well as the audience. Most of all, thank you filmmakers for your amazing films, which meant the competition this year was unusually fierce. The jury had a hard time deciding the winner, the scores were so close. This is why we’ve ended up with 3 Special Jury Prizes. Here are the awards announced yesterday (Sunday 10th Nov) at Cinema Oasis, presented with his usual stumbling flair by Thai ganja celebrity Piak Lek Hip who flew down from Pye in the Sky to hang out with us the whole Amazing Stoner Movie Fest:
Golden Ganja and USD 1,000 for Most Amazing Stoner Movie:
‘Bionico’s Bachata’ by director Yoel Morales from Dominican Republic for its extraordinary, even new, characters and filmmaking.
Baby Golden Ganja* and 5,000 baht for Best Stoner Short Film:
‘Brother’s Horn’ by director Majid Asadi from Iran for its sheer, meticulous rage and strangeness.
(*Formerly the Crystal Bong. This had to be changed after we had trouble sending it to a winner in an anti-cannabis country)
Special Jury Prize:
‘When This Is All Over’ by director Kevin Mayuga from the Phillippines
for its class warfare and intense emotions.
‘Vegetable Only Sir’ by director BC Amparado from the Phillippines
for its brave satire of the War on Drugs.
‘Forest At Night’ by directors Moritz Goebel and Luca Storch from Germany
for its mesmerising authenticity.
Most Shocking Stoner Movie*:
‘Monks and Generals’ by director Burma Bear from Myanmar
(*last given out to Space Birth 2)
Feel Good Stoner Movie:
‘World Naked Bike Tour’ by director William Bradford from Canada
The Stonest Movie:
‘Bubbler’ by director Nicholas Giombi from USA
Freedom Prize:
‘Eternal Void’ by director Pavaret Udompattanakij from Thailand
for bravely going where Thai filmmakers fear to tread.
Audience Award:
‘Dead Dead Full Dead’ by director Pratul Pundik Gaikwad from India
How interesting: the film that made everyone laugh so hard was Dead Dead Full Dead, a hysterical attempt to kill what cannot be killed, however annoying, evil and fake. More than ever, All We Weed Is Love (and we filmmakers and film lovers too). So please don’t make war on us. Shanti. Peace, man. Don’t ban weed or film.

Open Call for Films: EDUKINO – Empowering Film Festival
EDUKINO Empowering Film Festival invites filmmakers worldwide to submit their inspiring and empowering cinematic works addressed to young people. We're searching for stories that illuminate the strength of the human spirit and the journey of overcoming adversity, specifically designed to equip young people for the complexities of modern life.
We are particularly interested in films that explore the following four crucial areas:
1. Building Resilience and Mental Health
We seek films featuring protagonists who grapple with personal limitations, disappointment, sadness, fear, self-doubt, loneliness, or depression. By witnessing their struggles and coping mechanisms, young viewers can find relatable experiences, learn practical solutions, and strengthen their sense of hope, understanding that the path through pain can lead to profound strength and wisdom.
2. Developing Critical Thinking and Resistance to Disinformation
In an age saturated with fake news, media manipulation, and the pervasive influence of AI, EDUKINO champions films that foster critical thinking through intricate narratives and diverse perspectives. We invite submissions that teach audiences to analyze motives, intentions, and the credibility of information, while also recognizing emotional manipulation. Such films should enhance resistance to disinformation and cultivate empathy for differing viewpoints.
3. Preparation for Technological and Global Challenges
We are looking for films that humanize global issues in an accessible way, tackling subjects like the consequences of terrorism, the far-reaching impact of technology (including AI), and climate change. We encourage productions that present individual stories that build empathy, awaken global awareness, and inspire young people towards social action and value-driven decisions.
4. Support in the Crisis of Identity and Personal Development
We are searching for film narratives about heroes who champion their values, pursue their dreams, and develop their passions. These stories should help young viewers define their own value systems, ignite creativity, encourage self-fulfillment, and showcase the rich diversity of life paths, empowering them to break free from conventional molds.
For 15 years, the EDUKINO Film Festival has expanded viewers' perspectives, with a strong focus on socially conscious youth cinema. This year, in-person screenings will take place at the MOK Cinema in Józefów from 15-th to 18-th October, 2025. Following this, films will be available for online streaming from 19-th to 26-th October, 2025.
FECIUCH is a public university film festival that aims to promote audiovisual and cinematographic culture on a national level, fostering the inclusion of regional schools. It values audiovisual works not only for their artistic and social content, but also for their approach to language, form, and the critical perspectives developed within educational establishments .
Through this festival, we seek to bring together a broad community of students, professors and graduates, creating a university-based, artistic, diverse, and community-oriented space. FECIUCH is a platform for exhibition, discussion, and development for emerging voices and perspectives that are arising in university and educational spaces. We strive to encourage a contemporary cinema that, shaped by the challenges of modernity and limited resources, embraces innovation and reinvention.
We believe in a kind of cinema that dares to find new viewpoints, languages, and narrative forms - one that, rather than replicating established formulas, grows from the authenticity of its voices -, creativity, and the need to express from within the learning process. It is a cinema that explores and breaks the boundaries imposed by the traditional industry, thriving despite a lack of access to conventional resources.
This festival seeks to highlight works born from an urgent need to create—engaging with the present and envisioning the future of cinema through the student’s gaze. We view this as a space for dialogue and exploration of experiences that exist outside industrial-level access and resources, encouraging and promoting a low-budget cinema that finds reformative and sustainable solutions—where form, narrative, and the synergy of all elements make a film worth watching.
In this and future editions, we are committed to expanding our reach to support works in various stages of production, acting as a bridge between university filmmaking and the broader industry. We also aspire to international growth, incorporating independent showcases as a step toward eventually integrating them into our official competition.

DICHO Y HECHO PRODUCCIONES SL It is an entity whose corporate purpose is the production of all types of projects, including cinematographic works, as well as the organisation of events, among which the short and feature film festival called Ibicine Ibiza Film Festival stands out, which is planned throughout the year and held between January and April.
Ibicine is a festival that supports emerging national, international and Balearic talent, with the aim of promoting emerging filmmakers and generating links with established talent, placing special importance on short films and rewarding the technical and artistic aspects of these film productions with the Astarté Awards, a statuette created and produced in Ibiza in honour of the Phoenician goddess who left her mark on the island.
In addition to the SOC Official Short Film Section, the festival features Parallel Sections, as well as the SOL Official Feature Film Section and projects in development thanks to the Ibiza Film Market industry conferences held as part of the festival, to promote professional cinema on the island, creating a meeting point with the national and international industry to generate and strengthen relationships within the sector: creators, producers, platforms, buyers, etc.
All these activities come together in Ibiza as a setting for synergies, new projects and learning, with the signing of contracts and the generation of business for the film industry. And they are linked to their environment, their professionals and their audience.
Ibicine has been selected by UNESCO as the festival representing Spain in the Movie Travel film tourism routes, has received recognition from the Consell d'Eivissa, has been awarded the Business Excellence Award for Best Festival in the Balearic Islands by Acquisition International magazine and the 2023 Hospitality Award for Festival of the Year by LUXlife magazine.

The short films selected in the Official National Section of Ibicine may be included in the list of nominees for the Goya Awards if, in addition to this selection, they are selected by six other festivals collaborating with the Academy. ***

It is thanks to them and the Ibicine team that this cultural event in Ibiza is possible and has become an essential annual fixture.
For its very first edition, taking place on Friday, October 31 in Paris, the "SOUS-SOL INTERDIT" Festival is seeking spine-tingling, darkly funny horror short films to light up the night!
At the end of the evening, a jury will present a selection of delightfully off-beat awards to the films screened.
