International Youth film Festival Plasencia Encorto ()

IX International Youth Film Festival “Plasencia Encorto” is organized by the Department of Education and Culture from the Government of Extremadura, by the Extremadura Film Library, by the City Council of Plasencia (Cáceres) and 24 Fotogramas Cultural Association. The Festival aims to develop didactic and educative values and one of its most remarkable objectives is to promote and stimulate the creativity of students through the production of audiovisual works.

CONTEST RULES

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

- Each student or film group of the Educational Center under 20 will have the opportunity to participate in this contest by making an audiovisual short. The play can be made by the students with the help of their teachers or tutors.

- Every Educational Center will send no more than 3 works.

- Accommodation and travel cost: according to the organizers´ possibilities, the IX International Youth Film Festival “Plasencia Encorto”, will pay the cost of the accomodation and meals during the three days for one of the coordinators and for two of the students, It will be also paid the trip from Barajas Airport to Plasencia and from Plasencia to Barajas Airport (Madrid). The flight is not included.

- It is compulsory to subtitle the short in english unless it has no dialogue. Short films must send an .srt file with english subtitles

- We strongly recommend original musical composition, if not possible, a free one. The organization is not responsible for copyright. If you do not meet the legal requeriments, your works would have fewer options to get a prize.

- The total running time must not be longer than 12 minutes, film credits included.

 Categories:

A.- Advertisement (with didactic aims): healthy habits, smoking prevention, harmful effects of drugs and alcohol, bullying, ethnic minorities, gender equality, etc.

B.- Documentary: signs of identity, tradition and popular culture, different ways of living, cultural heritage etc.

C.- Fiction short or animated short.

Application form

- The contest begins Novembre 1 st , 2021 and it ends May 28st , 2022.

- Short films made before 2019 will not be accepted.

- Each author or film group will fill out the application form on the Festival webpage. Please, download the document on: http://plasenciaencorto.com/

- Short films on line sending, application forms and the two images of the short can be sent through free FESTHOME / The data contained within will form part of a catalogue, so it is very important to be filled correctly and carefully.

- The coordinator/s of the Education Centre have to keep the whole authorizations signed by the family or legal representative of those students who are under 18.

- The Organization reserves the right of the projection of the selected works naming the author/s as well as the right to project them in other Festivals.
- When registering the short you must indicate if you allow your work to be hosted on our YouTube channel.

- IX International Youth Film Festival “Plasencia Encorto” will take place from May, 5th to 7 th, 2022 with the viewing of the selected short films.

- awards Ceremony will be held on Saturday May, 7th at Alcázar Theatre in Plasencia (Cáceres-Extremadura).

- All the rules have to be accepted by the students and even the resolution by the Organization of a hypothetical problem not included in these instructions. The festival shall inform about the final program in advance.

- Please note: With your attendance you are consenting that photographs and film footage recorded during the film festival may be used for promotional and press purposes.

- The videos selected for the final will be informed through email and the webpage.

- The Committee decisions will be final.
