Through cinematic, humanistic and visionary perspectives, the Gothenburg Arab Film Festival starts from the Bride of Scandinavia, a cultural space that knows no boundaries to explore identity in the Arab world and the Diaspora through documentaries and short feature films by Arab directors, or by directors from other countries working on issues affecting the Arab world.
The main aim of the festival is to create opportunities for joint dialogue between Arab and foreign filmmakers to promote a culture of tolerance and to reject a culture of hatred, violence.
The festival spotlight documentaries and short fiction describing, analyzing and explaining deep problems in the Arab world, highlighting in particular fears faced by Arab citizens.
At Göteborg Arab Film Festival we are pleased to receive a wide range of audiovisual work, video/sound art, film, and new media work will be accepted: experimental, documentary, animation, narrative, non-narrative, multimedia, virtual reality, augmented reality, net art, interactive media, etc.
